Bump to remind everyone that it's this Saturday from 11am to 4pm!
As of right now I only know of three people racing, and a few more that said they'd like to go.

I'm pretty sure I'll be there. Make a few gradually speedier passes to see how the Dwarf reacts.
Going to be a traction fight I think...

So it seems that they're having an event there today, and it sounds like a BigDeal: http://nolimitraceway.com/index.php...e=shootout

ULTIMATE SHOOTOUT
RACE OF CHAMPIONS
Saturday Oct 6
Gates open at 9am

USS RACE ON SATURDAY Oct 6

GATES OPEN AT 9AM
OPEN TIME RUNS FROM 9:30 TO 11:30AM
FIRST ROUND OF ELIMINATIONS AT 12:00PM

Doesn't appear on the Schedule page, but it is featured prominently on the Home page.
Anyone know the story here?

WHAT??
I honestly didn't see that when i was looking for test and tune days..
I even e-mailed them to see if they would even be open, and what their rules are for convertibles, but no one replied..
I'm hoping they'll still let us run for fun.
Unless there's a spec miata class... hahah!
Though that is a bit of a drive for some of us just to find out that they're closed to test n tuners, if they are...

I'm going anyways. and if we can't race, then I'll just watch for a while until I get bored..

Well they let us run as a normal test and tune while they had their event going on, and even though I was the slowest car there (with the exception of kids on mopeds) I had a blast.

We had several scca members there. Kevin H., Brian B, Robert H, James R. and me.

here's some video.

Kevin vs. me

James in his dwarf vs. me

Aaandd, me vs. a funny car!

I think there's a trend in those videos.. I think I need a little more power! :-P

A blast indeed! Been quite a while since I've been to a dragstrip, I'd almost forgotten about high octane exhaust, tire smoke and open headers.
What Steve so kindly omitted is that this video showed the SINGLE run that I made without stalling out at the tree. The other 10 runs had RT's in the 2+ second range while I restarted the engine. Kinda surprising, since I had no trouble at all in the burnout box.

But, while I didn't learn how to launch the Dwarf I did learn that it tops out around 100 mph in 5th with this gearing. I also learned that the steering has just enough play that I don't want to do that down the straight on a road course (yet!).
