On my way to Lincoln for the prosolo finale and nationals today.

Was going to make to Murfreesboro TN tonight. NOT !

Stuck in Macon GA. Going to trailer place tomorrow. Smoke pouring out of trailer wheel...guess my local guy racer (not Hector)....that works on stuff for me...should have replace the bearings. I am screwed.

Not sure if I lost the axel. At least I didn't have an accident.

Anyone out there live in Macon and might have a place I could store my car ?

If I could get back on the road tomorrow----was still thinking about the pro. But the way I feel, and as tired as I am. Really tempted to pack it in.
Could maybe still go to natinals, but have no idea if the trailer could make it.

Someone wanna co-drive the pro with me ? (and get my car there ;)..........too f'ing late.

    Stuck in Macon.

At least I am not dead......................yet.

not a bad idea, but the logistics and towing the GT3 all the way too Lincoln freak me out.

The trailer place I am going to tomorrow (took the car off, and taking the wheel off tomorrow)...hopefully the axel isn't fried, but I was probably towing fo 20 miles before I realized that people weren't waving to me about my car, but rather there was smoke coming out of my trailer wheel.

Was really looking forward to the pro....hector my buddy was going to fly out to join me for the champs and drive back with me. If I got back on the road if the trailer is fixable without a new axel.....I would stilll have to kill myself to get to Lincoln by Friday night. If I don't do the pro, then i would suck arriving Saturday pm and just watching, and then waiting till Thursday to run.

I thought I actually might have had a chance to not suck at the Pro. Nat's I didn't hold out the same hope.

Now I have all these tires and wheels ready to go.........can't sell the car yet I guess----who would buy it ????

Car is finally working-----trailer is not---------burnt out----tired----shoot me now !!!!!!!

If I don't go broke------or die-----at least I might have some tires for next year.

BTW.......anyone that thought I was mentally ill.......................you're right.
    *******************
Good Luck to everyone........have fun and be safe.

As long as it get fixed up by mid day (assuming no big problems), it shouldn't be too much to make it to Lincoln by Sun evening.

yeah. If it gets fixed by even Friday.

Could make it to Lincoln by Sunday evening easy.

If the axel isn't fried. Of course if it's fried....not sure how I am getting the street legal GT3 home on A6's ! Of course I could just toss the keys to the nice night clerk at hotel, and just warn her about driving on the wet with the A6's. At least this time the truck didn't break. The Porsche didn't break----now the trailer breaks ! Shoot me now !!

If the axel is fried I wonder if I could still drive it the 20 miles to the trailer place.....Maybe I should take both sides of the trailer wheels off ???? And not just the bad one ????

Already email......deena about pulling out (no, I am not referring to a new method of birth control)((couldn't resist sorry)).
I guess if I actually showed up......I could still run, even if I said I wasn't. Of course I am watching tv here in Macon in the hotel. So freaking tired that I just want to rip my eyes out after starting to drive by myself at 5:15am.

Trade that trailer on a new one in Macon and press on. Sounds easy from my cushy chair here at home.

    Good luck!

I would think a decent trailer place could fix it today. Most of that parts are pretty standard, aren't they???

    Dave G.

    All bolt on stuff.

The GOOD news is that the overheated axle did not catch fire. Otherwise we would be commenting on what was left of the Porsche.

Remove the tire/wheel and using a chain lash the axle "up" so the suspension isn't bottomed on that side. Overpressure your tires by 5 lbs and move the load on the trailer as far forward as your tow vehicle will allow, thereby getting the weight off the trailer as much as possible.

I drove from Tennessee to Seattle with two cars on a dual axle trailer that lost a wheel bearing by doing that.

I'm betting he got it fixed early this morning, went to Wal-Mart and bought some Depends, a case of 5 Hour Energy, a couple of boxes of Honey Buns, a bag of Beef Jerky, and case of Dew and hit the road and is sitting in his own shit right now driving to Lincoln so he can make the Pro. So if you see him you might want to ask him if he has taken a shower and brushed his teeth before you go up to him. Just saying.

**********************************************************************************************************Great Idea ! Not.I am a worry wart. The above is not what I would do.State Trooper to Lehman, "Boy, what you doing driving this Yellow Germain Car on your trailer with only one wheel on one side and two on the other. You are one stupid Florida boy. You done wrecked five other vehicles by your stupidity, and one of these here vehickles, it be belonging to the county judge's wife. Hope you like the county jail, boy-----Because, you just hit the judge's car.....after you get out of the hospital for that broken leg----you going to jail Miami boy.

    **********************************************************

Went backwards. Went South 20 miles to sleep at a decent hotel. Stayed at a piece of crap place...not that bad, but not a good bed.

I feel so crappy right now that driving 1050 miles more to Lincoln would be impossible.....by myself I would be one dead Lehman.

Pissed that I missed the Pro.....driving that far and not getting a chance to walk the course the day before..(if I would've survived the drive), and having to sticker the car (stickers went away when I serviced the car).......if someone held a gun to my head and beat me....that drive still wouldn't happen as I feel so crappy right now.

I need a good night sleep. Will reevaluate tomorrow morning. I could make the 1050 miles from here in middle Georgia easily by Sunday night, except for the possible bad weather from Issac I might run into. Thinking maybe it's better to, "run, run, runaway...live to fight another day". I feel bad about my co-driver's plans of flying in on Wednesday, running with me Thurs and Fri and then driving back to South Florida with me-----that is if I don't go. But between the time and the distance, not to mention my bad luck (Could have been much worse...accident, injury).

Maybe.......take a pass and live to fight another day.

PS....probably just my luck that the shirt snaponbob wanted to give me was going to be worn by a amnesiac stripper with large hooters, and a fetish for guys that look like a doofy version of Jerry Lewis.

Well, no point in getting out of your comfort zone. Of course, my comfort zone allowed me to make a race in Portland, Oregon by doing that.

Probably just part of the difference between Solo drivers and racers. We're willing to take a few more chances. ;-)
