Congratulations to Jeff Hurst, those who don't know him he drives the #91 STX RX8 occasionaly at our events. Jeff held the lead at the ProSolo Finale held in Lincoln from start to finish in class competition in Nebraska over the weekend and claimed STX as his. Next up for Jeff is the National Championships this week.

Unfortunately, he had cone problems both days in the big show, and finished 6th in STX out of 50 drivers at the Solo National Championship yesterday. Still a solid Nationals trophy spot, to go along with the ProSolo championship. Congratulations, Jeff.....

Thanks guys! What a blast... held on for dear life to win the Pro. The car was just 'slightly' too loose for the event ;) Long story short, had to sit on my day 1 morning runs with not being able to pick up any time. The handling of the car got progressively worse after each heat. With the times being fast enough I was able to pick up bonus points from each heat to secure the championship.

For the Solo Nats, the competition went up a notch with a much larger field. I think STX was the 2nd largest class at the event with 50 drivers. Bryan Heitkotter won with stellar times on both days. I was happy to have been able to move up Wed with the 2nd fastest time in class and finish 6th after siting in 13th day 1. My fast raw times weren't clean either day as I hit a slalom cone with the passenger side, something I plan on working on during the next year.

Now can we get some real cones for the region?? ;)

Did you find running at an event with "regulation" cones made any difference in your driving compared with NYR's 2/3 scale cones?????

Absolutely. As a driver who's preparing for Nationals, you want to have your timing down and the width of the cone plays a role in that. Our lot is great.. it would be as great to not have to choose other regions for practice.

Help others get on the cones and we will need to get new ones sooner. The next order will be the 18" cones. If you are out there alone running them down, it will take longer.
