    Hey Everyone!

my name is Ken Im from NJ!!  I was wondering what I had to do to get into racing.  I want to start out in a low level class obviously and pretty much race for fun, really dont care all that much about winning, just racin for the love of it! I was wondering what a good starter class was and the lowest priced option for a car.  I know ill have to spend money on parts etc and am willing to pay to play haha.  Thanks so much for the information in advance everyone!!! I greatly appriciate it!!!

Welcome Ken! What type of racing do you want to get into? What do you think your budget for a car is? What about consumables such as tires and brakes? This will help us help you get started. Also, roughly how often per year do you want to try and race?

lots of ways to start out;  i guess i'd start by saying - probably start with solo 2.  pick a style of car you like, read the rules, and attend some events in whatever you have now to get a feel.  talk to people and take some rides before you decide.

    enjoy!

Go to a race. Look around, perhaps even volunteer.
In the paddock you can meet folks.
Look into an arrive and drive package.
Or into renting from an individual that will include some schooling.
Do NOT skimp on safety equipment.

Thanks for the replies guys! Budget for a car is around 3000-4000 and really want a smaller import, easier that way haha. I'm near njmp so whenever there's a scca race there.

    Thanks again
