I'm trying to get an idea of what kind of pressures the Kumho XS's should be at when up to temperature. Last autocross ( also the first one I have done on these tires) I set them at 38 and they rose to 41 in two runs. I then set them so they would rise to 41psi at the end of a run. We did eight runs, four in the AM and four in the PM. The temperature of the surface rose roughly 10-20 degrees, and air temp rose about 25 degrees in the sun.
I was reading that these tires love heat, but take one or two runs to heat up. The thing I noticed was that the tires seemed to be less grippy in the afternoon, like they seemed to get greasy with the additional heat on the Tarmac.
Anyone have any information on the ideal hot pressures for these tires? Knowing tire temperatures would be better, but I don't have a temp probe at the moment.
