When will the people that make the rules get their heads out of their butt. We are allowed to remove the Torque Arm and engineer a complete new rear suspension but we can not replace the lower control arm with an aftermarket arm of any configuration. The control arm MUST be stock, but we can change the bushing material. How do they expect anyone to square the suspension without an adjustable control arm. Bending and heating the frame is real high tech. If we all complain about this maybe something will be done in the future.

I'm faced with the same problem.  It costs more to rebush the stock rear lower control arms (RLCA) than to just buy a manufactured replacement.  If the rules objective is to remain stock, why allow adding traction bars, torque arm, panhard bar or watts linkages?  If it's OK to use these various items, why not allow swapping the RLCA too?

well, it is the scca.... lots of good people but the sum is much less than the sum of the parts... and our stupid rules have ruined racing the in the US.

If you really want to find someone to blame for the problem, look in the mirror.  The overwhelming majority of rules changes are the result of a competitor request.

I understand now the reason for restricting to the stock RLCA is to avoid tech having to keep track of an infinite number of aftermarket bits and policing the length to be standard/consistent.  Requiring the stock part makes that easier.
