I have a friend with a Subaru that has asked me if port matching of his stock turbo to aftermarket up pipe/turbo manifold is legal in Street Prepared.

Is "Intake and exhaust ports" in the rules section below to be interpreted to mean "intake and exhaust ports on the engine" (the most common occurrence of "intake and exhaust ports" referenced in automotive literature)?

Is "Intake and exhaust ports" to be interpreted  to mean "all intake and exhaust ports and manifold openings" (which would include "turbo exhaust housing exhaust ports" as well)?

         T. Intake and exhaust ports and manifold openings may be matched
provided no change is made more than one inch from the port/manifold
interface. Material may be removed to facilitate port matching,

but no material may be added

    Thanks  for your input.

The turbo assembly/housing itself may not be modified per 15.10.C.4. If you want a perfect match it will have to be made on the allowed part that attaches to it only.
