    Steve:
It's been a long time since I picked your brain. (I used to be in DSP with you, then I wound up in FSP after the split.)

I remember you being keen on Redline synthetics in general. And I have a fuzzy memory -- last we talked, which was a while ago -- of your having found a used a Mercedes 300SD for highway use. A few years ago, I picked up a mint, granny-owned, low-mileage 1989 300E. (W124 mid-sized chassis.) M103 sohc gas motor, 4 speed automatic with no lockup torque converter.

Basic, frumpy stuff. As is the ATF spec: Dex/Merc III. I'm due for a fluid change and looking for your opinion on:

    1) synthetic ATF in general
    2) Redline synthetic ATF for this car

Also, if I were to send you a package as a token of appreciation for this and the last 300 questions I asked in previous decades, is there a certain transmission shop in WV or MD I should mail it to?

Opinions from the rest of you are welcome, too, of course.

    Thanks,
    CP aka Squankum
