Brakes failed coming down the back straight

    This happened over the memorial day weekend after 19 minutes of racing. Brake pedal felt good coming into the straight but the car didn't slow down one bit. Yanked the e-brake before going off track and eventually let go of the steering wheel to avoid breaking any fingers. Developed a sore neck that night and some bruises later in the week but X-rays look good and I'm doing fine now.

    The biggest lesson I learned is to kill the fuel pump on the way out. Someone else pointed it's possible to wire the fuel pump to a oil pressure switch and the starter.

    This picture shows the fuel line that snapped in the crash which dumped fuel on the headers. The fuel lines were always taught so some extra slack might have prevented the fire. The thin 90 degree bend I think is a poor design decision in general.
