I have the opportunity to acquire a VR6 Engine and transmission. I plan to put it into my 2003 VW New Beetle. As far as classing goes, there is no production version of New Beetle with a VR6. There is an equivalent version of GTI. What class it belongs in will dictate how I build this project. I will have enough suspension mods that it would obviously be beyond street. I'm not quite sure if it would be in DSP in the "catch-all" of 6-cyl N/A not classified, or something like Street Mod. because of the non factory drive train setup.

Since the VR6 was never offered as an option in the Beetle, the engine swap will place you in SM.

That is pretty much what I figured and I did find that answer in the FAQ page of the class descriptions. Thanks for the response.

Specifically the car will be in SMF, not SM.
