Sorry for asking something I am sure has been answered many times. I tried the search function. It doesn't seem to work (tried on iPad and Laptop),

So, what class is the 1999 996 carrera 2?

I found some information in the web that suggests it is AS.

I also found information that suggests there are no ST classes for any Porsche.

    Please advise.

    Thanks for your help.

The 1999 911 Carrera is in AS. BTW, it's always better to ask these questions of the rule book rather than an internet forum because classifications can change and "internet wisdom" is often worth what you pay for it. Your question is quickly answered by referring to Appendix A of the current rule book which you can download here: http://www.scca.com/pages/solo-cars-and-rules

"no ST class for any Porsche" is false. Not sure if there is a ST class for your specific car, but again Appendix A of the rule book linked above will tell you that.

It is true that the 996 is not classed in any ST class.

A 996 Carrera 2 modified in excess of Street class allowances would go straight to ASP.

    Thanks for the help guys.

I didn't realize the appendix list existed.
