Blah blah karts blah...  Sure, objectively I'm much slower - trap speed, lap times, whatever.  But, by the end of the event my kidneys and spine will be so much happier.  Because marshmallow soft stock springs in Street class.


Really it's the ribs you have to worry about. I'll let you in on a little secret... If there is a turn on course over the really bumpy area at GMP someone is going home with cracked ribs. And it'll likely be me. Besides, who needs suspension when you have chassis flex and super soft tires to play with?

      Isn't that they way ALL the ES Miatas go?  As opposed to my mighty CS Miata, that "ambles about the course at a modest pace".  Well, at least when I wheel it.  And we're up to 6 entries in CS.

       Chad will be co-driving with me again this year to keep me honest, and hopefully the new ND Miata from T&T can make it out soon.

      CAM-C will be fun to watch Sunday - JJ, Jacob, and Rick Ruth!  And STF with Adam in "just a Mazda 3" against a the-internet-says-it-will-dominate-the-class RSX.

It's interesting to see the weight disparity in CS, ~2330ish for an ND Miata, to ~3400ish for a later 350z.

Yup, will be an interesting year.  Smaller and lighter than my NC, with a broader torque curve too.  As I understand, the NDs have a short 2nd gear like the NCs.

Another interesting read is the Rethinking Street Class proposal in the April Fastrack (pg 5).  Hmmm, move the NC1 to ES?

Yes, but potentially an extra required shift to hit 55+  (2013 Club vs. 2016 Club)

I had SO MUCH FUN TODAY! The Miata was great, thanks to everyone who gave me advice on setting it up.

I'm gonna wait to edit a video until the official times are posted, but here's me spinning out. I can't wait until my RE71Rs come in... someday... damn you Bridgestone...
