Registration opens April 1 at midnight for the 2016 St Louis Region Solo Novice School. The school consists of a classroom session and a full day of autocross driving instruction from experienced St Louis autocrossers. The classroom session will be held on June 6 at Patrick's Westport with the all day driving portion of the school held June 12 at Gateway Motorsports Park. Registration and more details can be found at www.motorsportsreg.com. The entry fee is $125 and includes a light lunch on the day of the driving school.
The school is intended for autocrossers with less than one year's experience and focuses on the basic skills required to become a competitive autocrosser and includes instruction in basic car preparation, event preparation, course analysis and driving the course. Slightly more experienced drivers may register for the course space permitting but novices will be given priority when registering. Registration is limited to thirty students. The class typically fills up so if you're looking for a basic introduction to autocross this is a great place to start. For novices, entry includes the registration fee for the next regular points event.
If you've been thinking about giving autocross a try this is a great opportunity to do so, not to mention experiencing a full day of fun, driving your car near it's limits in a safe, controlled environment. Hope to see you there!
