Honda Civic downshift to 1st 180°?

    Hello to all of you users of SCCAforums.com

    I am wondering how can some drivers downshift to 1st so easy when getting to a 180° turn, i know some people think it is unnecesary, but when your talking about peaky engines like a civic, it is really helpfull to be able to use 1st specially at a 180° turn; I've even seen Mitsubishi Evo's doing it for this kind of turns, and its weird cuz in some in-car videos you just don't see them using double clutch or something like that, looks like a normal transmission and they just go down like nothing, without double clutching, so please if anyone here knows how this is done, i'll be gratefull.

    They are probably heel and toeing, rather than double-clutching.  You wouldn't be able to see their feet, but you may hear the engine be rev matched.  It isn't hard, I used to be able to do it.  I have not driven manual in about 5-6 years until I getting my new-to-me fun car, so I'm getting back into the swing of things.  Like many things, it just takes practice.
