    Lance,
Back when they came out, we said "Leave it to the Yugoslavian Proletariat to try to build something that even the Italians gave up on a decade before." They did serve one useful purpose though. They made some folks with a whole heap of previously worthless Fiat 128 parts on hand verrry happy! SCCAForums Image

    Cheers,
    Norm

I checked out TITO and noticed he had own some NSU Prinzes.
Brings back great old memories when my Dad brought this white one home one day. I loved that car just couldn't get parts for it. Not very powerful with a two cylinder engine but it handled great! SCCAForums Image SCCAForums Image SCCAForums Image

WOW! Apparently you don't have to be free of racism and bigotry to be an SCCA member! Just amazed how stupid people can flaunt it so much...

And yes, I too enjoyed the NSU Sport Prinz. We eventually sold it to a nice gentleman in Texas who is very close to finishing the restoration on it. I can't wait to see the pictures!

I hope you didn't mean me!

But if you get some pictures of the NSU I would love to see them also. I have often thought about seeing if I could find one.

Who exactly were you referring to subrew.com? Maybe it would be more helpful to actually name the posts you think are racist or bigotted 'cause I don't see any on this thread.

The films section has some pretty good video of Yugo racing.

Great thing about Yugo's was even AMC Gremlin owners could laugh at them

Here's something funny: You guys know how they have a car museum in Vegas at the Imperial Palace? Well, when my parents took me there for my 21st B-day in May, we went to the museum. There were some pretty cool cars, I've got to tell you SCCAForums Image But one will always stick in my mind: A Yellow Yugo Hatchback with 88 miles. I'm not kidding SCCAForums Image It was actually in their collection!

Me: What the heck (edited version) is a Yugo doing amongst all these great cars?

Guy working at museum: Well, son, think about it. Not many of them running today are there?

    Me laughing: Nope.

Him: Well, we project that in ten years it will be worth $500,000+ because of that. It will be one of a few in this condition, one of the few that RUNS.

Me laughing again: I guess you're kinda right, although I think half a mil is overestimating that a bit SCCAForums Image

They actually had the car for sale as most of the cars there are. This one was a cool $18,500. I was like you got to be kidding, but if that prediction holds true I will be kicking myself in the ass!! Maybe my RS will be worth big money someday, Subaru didn't make many of them- but wait: they will still run after ten years SCCAForums Image HAHA

500K my arse. I watched some of the barret-jackson auction this weekend and their were some AWESOME cars....and I think the top seller was like 310K. Ain't no way a yugo gonna get 500K. That guy is full of crack.

Didn't mean to upset anyone. But...when i posted my reply containing the racism reference, there was a post just before it, that basically said something about how Yugos must be horrible because they were made by an inferior race of people etc..good thing we bombed them during the war etc... This post has subsequently been deleted.

I was very suprised to see that message. Apparently the moderator of this board saw it too...and removed it...as he/she should have done.

I'm not upset at the little jokes and stuff, as I've heard them for years. Jokes are ment to laugh at...and I enjoy a good laugh with the best of them. Just not real enthused when people begin to bring race/ethnic jargon into the conversation. Which sadly, often occurs during conversations about Yugo automobiles.
