Has there been a national auto-x event (Tour/Pro) this year that rain or wet ground did NOT impact any runs? (Or will we have to wait for Topeka in September?) SCCAForums Image

If I remember correctly, the Topeka Pro was dry.

Yes, the Topeka Pro was dry. Also both Ft. Myers events (Tour and Pro).

Ok thanks. So not all of them. Just 3 or 4 events. (I found Fontana Pro was also dry).

Going to really skew the PAX for next year. SCCAForums Image SCCAForums Image

The Dallas Pro and the Washington DC Tour were both dry during all runs too, even if it did rain right after 5th heat impound on Saturday at the DC Tour. SCCAForums Image

However, from what I understand (Rick Ruth was at Peru), rain events are not used when calculating the index numbers.

I'm beginning to wonder if the SCCA equipment truck and/or Cliff Rosenberg has a black cloud following it/him around the country....

San Diego NT, Atwater NT, Petersburg Pro, Houston, Oscoda Pro, and Peru NT had rain. I thought Ft Myers ProSolo had rain too (though if they did, I know it wasn't throughout the event). Toledo NT had rain, but it wasn't wet when cars were driving.

I think the only NTs to be totally dry were Washington and Ft Myers. ProSolos have faired marginally better (Dallas, Atwater and Topeka). Fontana was dry, but it had a very unusual ProSolo course. However, I don't think Rick Ruth uses ProSolos in his PAX assessment.

For my forecasting, all this variation has made my programs more complex, and added more variability to the forecasts.

That's what I thought about Atwater. Last year during Wendover's launch practice session it rained a bit.

I know it's next to the Bonneville Salt Flats, but I'm bringing my Dirt Stockers anyway. I learned after going to San Diego this year with no rain tires because it never rains in Southern California. It pours man, it pours.
