All,

Now that BFG has bowed out of the DOT business and I'm stepping up the CP this year, what is everyones favorite flavor of tire?

I need something for a relatively heavy car with poor geometry.

I also want something that can do dual duty at the auto-x's and open track events.

Thanks,

Thanks CPRacer,

I just checked out his page. Looks like I could be hosed with my 17" wheels. I e-mailed him to see if they make the slicks in 17's.

I can't imagine that don't with all the vettes out there...

How long do they last for you?

Thanks,

I Bought My Slick's New In May And Ran 8 Local Events 6 Cendiv Event's And A Solo On A Race Track And Still Had About 50% When I Got To Nationals. I Bought A New Set There For The Week Although I Didnt Need To Wanted To Get A Set Of The Old Design Tires Because The New One's Are Heavier .As For 17" Are Youre Wheel's Stock Or Wide Width Were Limited To 16"+12" Wheel's By The Rule's But I Think Stock Size Wheel's Are Ok. Are You On The Mailing List For The CP New's Letter ?
If Not Let Me Know And Ill Get You The Info To Sign Up!Also Check Out The CP Web Site At http://cp.carlc.com/ There Are Places There For You To Sighn Up For The New's Letter And The CP List .

The only tire worth using is Hoosier.
If you guys are only interested in cost, then it's Hoosier.
If you guys are interested in stick, then it's Hoosier again.
If you guys are trying to get a whole season on a set of tires, then take up golf.
If you want to win, stay on a good set of tires all year, so you know what it feels like to stick.
Don't even think you can compete without arriving in Topeka with a new scrubbed set.

Goodyear Radial slicks are available in a 160 compound which can work well for autocrossing on smooth courses. Check out http://www.rogerkrausracing.com they have the complete Goodyear sizing info online.

Note: These tires are pretty pricey SCCAForums Image

I have Kuhmo's and I love them. They last easisly an entire season and for some of the events that arent too far from my house I dont have a problem driving to the event on the tire. And being in college the price difference makes it worth while for me. SCCAForums Image
