Anyone know in what class a stock '91 Peugeot Mi16 would compete?

Guessing here, I'd say CSP. Many of the SP classes contain a catch all listing that many of the non-officially-american-released cars seem to fit in:

CSP z All sports cars under 2.0L not otherwise classified Feb-2000

CSP z All sedans over 1.7L and under 3.0L not otherwise classified Feb-2000

Unfortunately cars have to be officially released in the USA for stock classes.

First of all, the 405Mi16 was sold in the U.S. alongside the plainjane 405 DL /S.

From Road & Track, 11/88, the MI16 is a 2695 lb car with a 150 hp 1.9L DOHC 4-cyl. Tested 0-60 is 9.0 sec. The car road on 14 x 6 wheels, and was a pretty good handling car for 1989.

In perhaps the weirdest classing in the rulebook, the MI16 used to be classed in BS against the MR2 turbos. It hasn't been listed for a few years, but the correct SP listing is ESP. SCCAForums Image Once again, beats me as to why.

I'm guessing that when it first came out it kicked butt in the sedan classes, and since it was so rare, they put it into a class where they figured it would bother no one. The classes have matured and changed, but I guessing that the car was forgotten and has never been changed.

My opinion is that it should be classed in either ES or GS.

You could run in STS with it.

Thanks - I think I'll try STS - going to my first my autocross this weekend 1/13 in Camden. Hope to have a blast! I guess since I'm a novice class won't really matter though?
