How open is the site.  In other words, any obstacles to hit ?

Is it like Blytheville ?

--------------------

I was thinking of letting a friend co-drive my car and wouldn't want my car damaged....much less chance of that if the site is wide open.

Anyone have a video of the site that they could post a link to here....

Thanks

David

Not sure on obstacles, I'm guessing not many/any.

I think they use the west end where the 2 runways cross.  (look at on Google Maps)

This one has a pretty good perspective for seeing the site.  Goes on for days...

The Riverside Annex is a typical WWII bomber base. Several very long 300-ft wide runways. The area we are using, called the "X", is pictured above in David G's second link. In addition to the two wide crossing runways, there is a narrower taxiway that completes the triangle.

The surface has a lot of exposed aggregate in a similar texture to Lincoln. And there is enough space to easily do 90 second courses that are flowing and not slow. Yeah, it's big.

There is one obstacle...a small storage building is just alongside the one runway near the crossing.  You can see it as a white rectangle in the pic linked above.  Very easy to avoid with course design.

Sounds like he is bringing a chaperone.  :)

As for size, the site is huge.  As for obstacles, all SCCA guidelines will be strongly adhered to in designing the course.  Most places that one could run off the concrete surface is covered in grass.  FWIW, even Andy couldn't go off on this course!8-)  BTW, make sure you have plenty of gasoline because it will be a true 55sec course.

No doubt.  The curbing I have previously visited is on the part of the runway we'll be using for paddock/grid.
