5 Replies and 3356 Views Any new 15 inch tires sizes for 2016  3356  5 Started by  mrtwo1991 Looking to see if anyone knows if any of the tire manufacturers are planning to offer a grippy 225-45-15 or 225-50-15 for 2016. Right now what I've seen is the Rival S, and Toyo R1R. Would really like a RE71R in this size.

13 Replies and 2390 Views 2016 Camaro SS--no way its F-street, right?  2390  13 Started by  Cito As I am sure many of us have, I have been reading every article I can on the 2016 Camaro SS, and it looks like Chevy has knocked one way out of the park with the car. Traditionally, it would be straight to F-street, or F-stock in the old days, for the Camaro, but the car seems like it is so good that I am not sure that is going to happen here. Interestingly, the Camaro is based on the Cadillac ATS chassis. The ATS 3.6 has already been classed, I think inappropriately so, in BS while the 2.0 A...

1 Replies and 744 Views SOLO Nats AS/BS tire question  744  1 Started by  Cactus Bob First off; I'm a newbie on this forum so if I'm not following protocol, just let me know! Question: I'm trying to figure out why it appears most of the fast guys in AS at the SOLO nats ran BFG Rivals and the BS guys seemed to have used Bridgestones. Looking at the photos of the winning entries, the AS cars ran 18' front wheels but the winning BS cars ran stock 17' diameter wheels. Was the BFG better in AS with the wider Z06 wheels Better size availability We are a long-time SCCA solo fami...

2 Replies and 680 Views Wheels for 2014 Mustang GT with Brembo brakes  680  2 Started by  Fastie The 2014 Mustang GT with track package has 19 x 9 wheels with 42 mm offset. Looking for wheels that will allow me to stay in F Street (car is stock) and also want to use the wheels for track days. I was told 18' wheels would be better, but not sure I can find wheels that will clear the calipers. Also if I get 18 inch wheels will performance at autocross events really suffer Any recommendations on Mustang experts I could ask Anyone with experience out there with a Mustang with Bremb...

3 Replies and 2417 Views SS Class Car Purchase Opinions  2417  3 Started by  jhalliman Question: I'm considering dropping my highly uncompetitive (but fun) STR Miata at the end of the season and moving to something that I can compete more with. I'd prefer, for personal reasons, an Elise (or '06 NA Exige) OR a C7 Z06 for SS. Budget isn't a massive concern to me but I don't hate spending less money. Does anyone have enough experience with the new Z06 to determine whether the Elise will remain competitive or not in the SS class with the release of the new platform Also, I'm not s...

5 Replies and 913 Views 996 carrera 2 class?  913  5 Started by  Robfleck2 Sorry for asking something I am sure has been answered many times. I tried the search function. It doesn't seem to work (tried on iPad and Laptop), So, what class is the 1999 996 carrera 2 I found some information in the web that suggests it is AS. I also found information that suggests there are no ST classes for any Porsche. Please advise. Thanks for your help.

Well are there any SAC members out there with some insight as to where it is going to go. 137hp 179 tq and about the same weight as the current car. Can't go in HS would be an underdog in DS so maybe GS. Probably would dominate G, what do ya think

3 Replies and 1192 Views Does anyone knows if SCCA will bump C5 (99-04) to AS for 2016 year?  1192  3 Started by  Conekilla I have heard a lot of rumors thisyear about SCCA bumping 99-04 C5 to AStreet. However, at the nationals this year, top two runs in Bstreet were done by S2000. However, 6 out of top 10 cars WERE indeed c5s. So anyone knows if c5 is getting bump or no(or at least when scca usually makes that announcement) Thanks

(Topic has multiple pages1 2 )
I am putting this out there in the interest of starting a discourse about what I believe to be a void in the Street classing structure. The purpose of writing these letters is to initiate change (or sometimes to oppose it). I've written my letter. If you agree, please write yours. If you disagree, please write your letter, too. If I am the only one out there who thinks classing older FWD cars competitively in Street is better for overall participation and variety, so be it, but I happen to thin...

2 Replies and 1002 Views 2012 SRT Jeeps  1002  2 Started by  weekendracer I have a friend with a 2013 SRT Jeep and he would really like to run it at an event. I see trucks from Porsche Macam's in C street, and a Mix of SRT-10 Ram, GMC typhoon and Hurricanes, in F Street. I am certain an SRT Jeep is way more roll resistant and safer around twists than a big srt-10 Ram. So why no classing The SRT Jeep is one of the most fun cars to drive at the SRT Experience autocross track, if Chrysler seems to find it ok to run the jeep around an autocross corse, why doesn't the SCC...

4 Replies and 1294 Views Volvo C30 Polestar in HS?  1294  4 Started by  Cito Just a simple question. It looks like at this point all C30's are in HS. So, maybe its a 2-part question. 1) Is it currently classed in HS. 2) What is the chance it gets moved out of HS From what I have read, it might not be that great of a car for autocross, but I think it shares its bones with the Focus ST and Mazdaspeed3, which are obviously classed elsewhere. Thanks for any thoughts, Brent

2 Replies and 915 Views STS or FSP For a 96 Civic Coupe EX?  915  2 Started by  Enderson Hi folks. I tried google for some info but only thing I find is classing for the SI, B16 model for the 1999-2000 chassis Civic. My brother is running a 96 Civic Coupe EX with: Coilovers Intake, header and exhaust. It seems to me his modifications put him in an ST class, but I can't figure if it's STS, STF, or perhaps FSP Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

7 Replies and 3550 Views 350Z in C-Street  3550  7 Started by  lowside67 Hello everybody I am hoping there might be some insight as to 1) if the 350Z stands a chance against the mighty FR-S, especially in our sealed asphalt surface which is very low grip compared to concrete 2) if anybody has any thoughts on the best year/model I like the cars but am looking for a competitive CS ride and wouldn't be happy with it as my DD if it wasn't also a solid choice for autocross. My region is reasonably strong and I am a seasoned autocrosser so am hoping for a really ...

7 Replies and 3243 Views Street class tire width question  3243  7 Started by  Chris I need some help choosing the right tire width for my CLA45 in Super Street class this season. The car came with 19x8 wheels and 235/35-19 tires. I'm getting ready to order a set of Hankook R-S3 tires; however, I don't know if I should stick with the factory tire size or go with 245/35-19s. I know I really should consider downsizing to a lighter set of 18x8's, but right now that's not an option. I've read recently that wider isn't always better when it comes to street tires on narrower wheel...
