What are your racing plans for 2008????

Thought I would start a thread about everyone's plans for 2008......ie:  what car, what class, how many races you doing,  June Sprints, etc.     I know the rules and changes might effect your plans but as of now,  what are your plans?

Fair enough.   Stick out tongue    If there are no positive changes from the CRB........then I will probably do a few races in the GTO,   a few in a SM and a couple in a friend's Production MG.

Rob.......... Bring that 355 up to the NASA nationals at MO, 9/11>>>>.  You'll have a great time, and tons of track time!

Re: What are your racing plans for 2008????

Well...this week I have a meeting with David P and I had hoped to convince him that WRP would sponsor me for a full season of NHRA Top Fuel racing.  WinkYa know this whole turning thing is getting old.....plus Lance and Juanita can crew for me after they finish their entertaining at Route 66.   Yes

Seriously....Definitely going roundy round racing in the CRA Super Series.  There also is a slim chance of T1 races at Blackhawk, June Sprints , Autobahn, and Grattan...  in either a Porsche GT3 or my old C5 Z06 (depending on available funding ???)  Unfortunately...it looks like  No more Runoffs for this guy...unless they figure out how to shorten it to less than a weeklong excursion.

Oh yeah...dreamlist also includes an ARCA test at either Chicagoland Speedway or Lowes in Charlotte. Geeked

    Peace

I'm not sure what 2008 will bring for me, BUT...

I do know that I won't be spending my money on this 3 ring circus called "SCCA".

Although the show keeps getting more and more entertaining, it's just not worth the constant brain damage.

Re: What are your racing plans for 2008????

I know in 2008 I will eat too much and excerise too little; maybe work "about right" but still neglect the family...

Oh, you want to know about racing...SCCA? NASA? Grand Am? Maybe to all three.

Run Offs? less than 50/50 if I qualify. Moods do change, though, so I reserve the right to change my mind.

Viper? Likely, unless someone buys it. Mazda? more likely. Something else? Ya never know (and I don't either).

In the end I will probably run a 3/4 T1 NeDiv schedule; do some endurance races, and a few selected G/A events.

Sebring, Homestead, CMP, VIR, maybe (finally) get up to do the June sprints, Runoffs.   It's definitely going to be an abbreviated schedule for me.  I'm looking forward to pounding on the new ride though!

NASA ST-1 and maybe some SCCA BP if I can work out some small differences. Can I borrow a car?

Re: What are your racing plans for 2008????

Long as the fi cars dont get a blanket restriction Ill be running the NE schedule and a few SE races, especially the VIR Double which should bring in a pretty strong field. IF Evos get restricted the car will not be competitive and Ill more than likely go to NASA with the other fi guys ive been speaking to and Im guessing T2 will most likely not qualify as a Runoffs/televised race next year to see the battle between the F bodys/M3s and the 350Zs. Hopefully the SCCA fixes the one car they totally messed up on and leave the rest of the field alone. Afterall, take out the GXPs and it was a battle between an F body and a 350Z for the win. FWIW 10 of the 26 cars in T2 were fi cars, take them out and that leaves a 16 car field.

I will be defending my NeDiv T2 "DFL" title in 2008 with the Evo in T2. Hoping to do 6 or 7 races this year in the NE. If FI gets a restrictor I will probably do SCCA FF or FC instead like I originally intended.

Re: What are your racing plans for 2008????

I'll be running the NE division schedule in T3 in my S2000. I'll make a few out of division trips hoping to get down south early. I'm 50/50 about the runoffs. I'm in the process of doing the adult thing and building a house so finances may be a bit low by that time, but we'll have to wait to see.

Let's see, between building a house, having another kid, playing on a traveling softball team, and playing the family role to keep the wife happy, Nelson, M-O, BeaveRun, Pocono are for sure. Everything else will be a game time decision.

All of this is based on me figuring out how to go from SSC to T2 without major issues......

I hope to be able to get my 4 nationals in next year (If not more) and try and qualify for Run-Offs as long as the Kumho work schedule allows. Need to work on more sponsors to refresh the car.

Race whenever and wherever, and as fast as I can. As for me, racing begins at the Winter Nationals. However, a cautionary note - "Mr. Yarosz (himself) and I share a new dually-trailer. Given our passive natures,  enough BS will be in evidence to require rolled up pants and shovels as required racing gear.  Good luck. Between you and Al, I am beginning to get a bit "sensitive" about people wanting to spend my money. Hey, I have a wife and daughter for that, I don't need more. Plus, I know that there are others in much, much better financial shape than I am. I am just a poor ole' financial planner from Ohio!

From what I hear I want both you and Bob Kahn to adopt me..pleeeeaaassseee. And Yarosz (Mr.).  Heck, throw Joe A. in there too. You guys make way too much money.
