    Northeast Divisional Championships

The Northeast Divisional Championships will be held at Seneca Army Depot on August 8-10th. Information regarding on-line registration, lodging, event schedule, entry fee, etc will be made available as soon as possible.

Regrettably, these dates confict with some regional events and in particular the Al Holbert Memorial in Philly Region. It is my understanding that in the future there will be new incentives to host the divisionals in the Northeast and that the date will be set at an earlier time and will be better prepared and better supported.

In the meantime, we hope that competitors from areas that are not facing scheduling conflicts will attend the Northeast Divisional Championship event which is being planned with an eye toward maximum enjoyment of the attendees.

    Sincerely,

Here's a link to a generalized map of the location.  A more detailed map will be supplied shortly.

Seneca's a great site.  Can hotels be found with vacancies since I believe I heard that NASCAR is at Watkin's Glen that weekend?  Can camping on site be made available for this event?  Any locals opening their houses?

There's a campground across the street from the site at Sampson State Park http://nysparks.state.ny.us/parks/info.asp?parkID=100

I'll be posting a list of hotels shortly but am uncertain about the NASCAR situation.  I was able to get a room at the Microtel pretty easily.

EDIT:  And I stayed at the campground for last year's Pro and it was a very full service place (showers, convenience store) with a beautiful view of the lake.

this map has a lot of good info about the area

    http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=108428510702440385463.000448f7a1add76e849d2&z=9

we stay at Sampson State park 3 or 4 times a year for the last few years.  pretty nice camp ground and only about a 5 minute drive from your camp site to your paddock spot.  fair warning.  quite a few of us tend to flock to loop 6, and there have been complaints about noise.

That is the same weekend as the NASCAR @ the Glen.  If you want a hotel, get a reservation NOW as anything within 60 minutes of the Glen will no doubt sell out very quick.  You will probably be safest to look in Waterloo, Geneva or Seneca Falls.  All are within 30 minutes of the site, and are beyond the range of most NASCAR fans.

Here is an aerial photo of the entry to the site and how to maneuver your way to the actual competition part of the pavement.

I can't believe people didn't want to hear our conversations about tires at 11:45 PM Indifferent

Just added a bunch of motels to the north (Canandaigua - Geneva - Waterloo - Seneca Falls - Auburn).  I'll fill in south of the site later, though I imagine those places will fill up quick being closer to the Glen.

    Make reservations asap

Please everyone ... if you think you're going to attend this event, make reservations now.  With Nascar at Watkins Glen that weekend, motels will be tight.

    More Event Info

Here's a lot of site information put together by FLR for the Seneca Pro Solo (same site as Divs).  Very useful stuff:

EDITED:  Axware checks your name and member # against the SCCA data base. If you do not spell your name exactly as it appears on your SCCA card, it will not make you a member.

FYI - Finger Lakes wasn't on the Region list...

    George,

That's because FLR doesn't use that registration software/site.    When you fill out your profile, you do so under the Mohawk Hudson Region.  And you click "YES" for member status.  It doesn't mean you are a member of Mohawk Hudson Region.  It just means you are an SCCA member.

     P.S.  Don't blame me. Smile

    Re: Registration is Open

No worries - just wasn't sure if it was an oversight.  Since y'all are hosting in our backyard, hopefully there will be a bunch of FLR'ers in attendance.  I passed on the "just use MoHud as the region" on our discussion board.  And Thanks for hosting - Divisionals is a lot of work for a smaller region.
