You want what appears to be a moderate-sized dirt lot in Ft. Collins, Colorado?
How does an Auto plant parking lot in Bloomington-Normal IL become a dirt lot in Co. Those Mn. internet connections need some retooling

Re: 2009 Nationals and Pro Finale? Not only where but when?
I had to copy and paste the link because when I clicked it it generarted a map of the US and lower Canada. After pasting it there was a map of the Mitsu plant in Illinois. What value would there be in asking to use a huge concrete lot covered with new car inventory?

And if any Mitsu drivers showed up... their warranties would be instantly voided

"Hello, Mitsubishi. This is the SCCA. We'd like to use your inventory and shipping lot in Normal for our National Solo Championship. Would you mind laying everyone off for a few months to clear the lot of cars?" "What is an SCCA?"

There are two possible plans of attack here.
One, we could all go out and buy 1000 Mitsubishi's in August.
or
Two, spread filth about Mitsubishi's across the internet in hopes of them going under.

Re: 2009 Nationals and Pro Finale? Not only where but when?
This Mitsubishi plant brings to mind another question.
The GM plant in St. Louis is shutting down. Where were they parking their cars? I doubt it was just the lots around their plant as they seem a bit small especially after seeing the Mitsubishi lot. I tried following the train tracks leading away from the place (on Wikimapia) but quickly ran out of patience.

No, the Wentzville plant is not shutting down. They are cutting some jobs.

Re: 2009 Nationals and Pro Finale? Not only where but when?
The following is clearly "Thinking outside of the Box". But since the 2009 Nationals is only a little over a year away, we should be considering every possible site that could hold an event the size of the Nationals.
Hold the 2009 event at a Race Track that has a good sized Road Course. Design the courses so they do not start and end at the Timing and Scoring Trailer - use wireless timing lights if need be. Set the course up on the road course, with the finish line some 4,000 feet or so down the track. This way you could still have 20 second starts, without the worry of a car returning on the narrow road course track.
Milller Motor Sports Park would be one to consider! Huge facility that covers almost 500 acres. Lots of space for Paddock; Tech buildings and Garages for rent; 30 minutes from Hotels in Salt Lake; RV spaces and Camping available. Grand Stands for Spectators -- Sell Tickets.
Reading the Info on their website, during the weekdays they rent out the track.

Just an idea!

Re: 2009 Nationals and Pro Finale? Not only where but when?
Miller wouldn't require using just the road course, as there's Solo room in the paved lot/paddock type areas...fact is, there are a number of sites west of Kansas that could be possibilities, including Stapleton Airport, Miller, Las Vegas Speedway, Crow's Landing AFB, El Toro etc. but none of them fall in the geographic region required by SCCA. Too bad.
What I don't get, though, is the willingness (based on the survey) to explore sites farther east than Topeka, buit not so much west...unless I have my geography wrong or my memory of what was on the survey is failing...

There is no such place as Stapleton Airport. I really doubt the thousands of people who live and work there would want us autocrossing on the streets of their neighborhoods.

My bad...I didn't know that....I guess the last couple of Pro's and Tours done in Denver were actually at Denver International.
On the other hand, "autocrossing on the streets" aka street races sounds pretty interesting...

Maybe because there's very little between Topeka and Denver, but Denver's 8 hours away! Whereas you can go east an hour or two or three and have a lot of possibilities.
DIA was not a great site and it was lost already anyway. I would LOVE Nationals to be in Denver, I'd get to go home and it would be worth the extra drive, but I don't think there's a suitable site, and definitely not one for an extended period of time. Coors Field holds a lot of baseball games in September.

Surferj is right on here... Also keep in mind the US Population Center (and I suspect) Autocross population center for the US is further east then Topeka.
