Shifter Kart and enclosed trailer for Sale:

2001 CRG Heron Plus
2001 YZ125cc motor with mild cylinder and head work (ports cleaned up and head shaved 0.010) - 6 speed trans - I am told it should produce about 38HP in this configuration
(the motor has some cosmetic JB weld on the side but has no leaks from the damage....was from previous owner)   
    - top and bottom fresh as of March with maybe 0.5 hours....ALL OEM Yamaha parts used
    - Motoul Trans-expert 10w30 tranny fluid
    -Redline 2 stroke racing oil used in motor
    -OEM Mikuni carb with assortment of jets
    -K/N filter with airbox and extra filter as well
    -Vforce 2 reedcage (best one made) (stock one included)
    -RLV pipe (older model....not sure what)
    -NEW plug, wire, and boot
    -Plugged and machined power valves (originals included)
   
-27T Aluminum rear gear and 15T main gear
-new 40mm hard shockwave rear axle with all new rear bearings
-Extra long hubs, but includes Medium length as well
-new bearings in LF and plenty of extras to replace for years

-Tillett XXL full pad seat (fits drivers in the 180-220lb range (I'm 200lbs and 511 in my suit and helmet)
-has the desired CRG self adjusting brakes (not the VEN ones)....2000 up I think they might be called? it's got 2 calipers on the rear foating disg as well

-Mychron lite  with EGT, H2O, CHT temp probes.

-nearly new Banana style radiator

-4 seat struts (2 home made)

Comes with like a 4 or 6 liter tank mounted but includes the BIG oem CRG tank

SPARES:
-extra set or two of brake pads I believe for the front
-plenty of spark plugs 3 Iridium NGKs and 3-4 NGK-R plugs
-tire bead breaker and tool to change your own tires
-

Wheels and tires:
-OEM mag CRG wheels (CRG hubs incl.) with some 80% worn rears and 30% worn fronts MG Green tires
-CIK alum wheels (130F 210R) with Vega XP tires 80% worn rears and 30% worn fronts (vega rears dismounted and YHA...soft Bridgestones mounted now)
-RKP wheels alum wheels (130F 210R) with Bridgestone YHB (medium soft tires....spec for most shifter classes)  30% worn rears and 10% worn fronts
-Douglas vented Mag wheels (130F 212R) almost new wheels with almost new Vega XP tires (only 6 min run time on sealed asphalt in autocross)
-Douglas Rain wheels with Bridgestone Rains.....only 3 autocross runs on them in a downpour
- 2 extra YHB fronts unmounted


Homemade enclosed trailer 5x8:
-cost $350 new when I bought it 3 months ago from Northern Tool
-Has C load Range tires on it and a B load range spare mounted up front. Also has a trailer jacking wheel up front to make it easy to maneuver in the pit and at home
-enclosed rear 6 ft of trailer for kart with 3/4" thick plywood and 2x2in angle iron  (polyurethane coated wood 2x on outside 3x on bottom and 1x inside) (spent about $700 in parts)
-it wasn't welded totally straight but is weather tight
-ugly enough to not get stolen but solid enough to use as a viewing platform (why i built it)
-front is open for alum box not yet added on, but included
-enclosure only 2 ft high so the kart barely fits, but sits low enough to tow out of the wind.
-I tow it with my Mazda 3. Milage goes down only 2MPG (28mpg on the highway towing @80mph). That's why I built it so low instead of buying a built one for $1800.


I KNOW there is more that I have forgotten, so I may be adding more. I was also told that it leaves the line as fast as any fully built Honda (by a local Honda guy with a 42hp motor.....he said mine was faster than his). The YZ i'm told makes more Torque so its wayyyyy easy to drive. :)

OVER $7000 INVESTED IN THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF. I've fixed everything on the kart that could need fixing. It's run strong and only ever broken down of my own fault. I am moving on and building a Miata for the track/street so this has to go to clear Garage space

PRICE DROPPED TO $2800 with the trailer and $2600 without.

do you know if the previous owner/s of this kart used it for road racing?

 

The guy before me did use it for racing.

The JB weld on the side of the motor was for a surface crack. I took the cover apart and couldn't see any damage inside the case. So its just cosmetic. It apparently hit a curb and fence.........the driver absorbed most of the impact I was told :) 

So the frame was tweaked about 1/2" on the right side. They had it straightened at a kart shop here in Houston. I never noticed any problem with the kart besides the current driver's lack of discipline :) 

I also have a straight intake on the way I was told (something I ordered 2 months ago and had forgotten about). Its supposed to make 2-3 more HP and TQ!!!  :)  And the reason I bought it is to make the air box fit better when i run in the rain :)

So that's included......

 

ALSO.........since there is interest without the trailer....I will knock $200 off the price. Mainly because I was ordered to get rid of the trailer or get a smaller one LOL........so I can keep this one and modify it to fit my needs :)

I also calculated shipping to central OH....its about $500 to a residence. So thats a general idea for those who aren't too close to me :)

Due to the increase in hours at work I cannot deliver it more than about 400 miles now :(   

It is still for sale though.

It also includes a custom straight intake good for another 2-3hp I'm told.

As of now, I'm not planning on taking it to nationals to show. I simply don't have the extra $260-300 to bring it there and back in my budget. :(
