    2007 ProSolo Season Schedule

Where does one watch to catch the earliest information about the 2007 ProSolo season's schedule?  Is this the place?

Yes, I think I'm addicted.  I'm back from Nat'ls and walking the hallways at work like I'm looking ahead for the next cone.  It's very strange.  People give me odd looks at my decreasing radius turn into the men's room.

I usually hear loose dates starting in early November. Mid-late December is more realistic.

Geez, I guess I'm not the only one afflicted.  I was considering asking the same question last night, but decided maybe I'd give it a rest for a couple weeks and let everyone recover from Nationals.

I can't wait until next season, those Integra Type Rs are going down!!

    Hey, I can dream, right?

LOL! I also would like to see those ITR's go down in D-Stock.

I'm also looking forward to seeing the '07 Pro Solo schedule. Hope they do a National Tour Solo and Pro Solo event in DC next year...

Uh oh, not another AWD car.  I think the 06+ WRX stands a fairly good shot in Pro Solos.  You have the bigger wheels and more power, which should make the car competitive.  I have yet to see a fully prepared car, but I'm sure they can keep up.  Heck the stock one at DC this year wasn't too shabby.

That 'stock one' at the DC Pro was driven by my friend Steve St. John. It actually had konis but he was having problems with a fuel cut issue in tight corners.  He was also running on 245/45/17 V710's which are the wrong tire size for our car - 245/40/17 A6's give better gearing.

I'm looking forward to racing in Pro Solos next season. I should be in a fully prepped '06 WRX, and as I started off in the motorsports world in drag racing, I'm VERY comfortable with the starting tree and can cut 1.8-1.9 60ft's regularly.

From what I recall, the entry fees to the National Tour Pro Solos were pretty inexpensive (~$85), however, gas to and from the vent as well as a hotel room for two nights really adds up quickly.

    Re: 2007 ProSolo Season Schedule

Not sure if this is the right place, but how much interest would there be in having a Pro Solo in Topeka (not the Finale)? The last one that was here in 2004 was due to a last minute cancellation in Texas, and was poorly attended (I think 135 cars), but with more notice and the new surface, we might get more.

Of course, with Arkansas, Mineral Wells, and Denver, there were already 3 Pro Solos within about 500 miles of Topeka last year.

    Re: 2007 ProSolo Season Schedule

What we need are more tour events on the east coast.  Devens is a long haul and had mediocre attendance, while the DC Pro could have sold out twice.  Maybe a Toledo Pro?  Not exactly east coast, but at least closer.  Wish my own region (Philly) would step up and put on a Pro. Sad

We didn't have a ProSolo in Devens. The site isn't exactly condusive to one either. It can probably work, but not the best location for one.

I can't wait for '07 either. I have vacation time!!!

There was a Toledo Pro a couple of years ago but they lost the lot for this year. I don't know if they are getting it back for this coming year but if they do, I would hope that they are tapped to run one again.

Jer, you know that we would run one in an instant if we had the lot to do it.

I couldn't agree more. There needs to be at least two National Tour Pro Solos within a reasonable commuting distance of the DC/Baltimore/Philly area (as well as two National Tour Solo events). There's such a large autoX interest in this area of the East Coast that these events would be very lucrative for the SCCA.

    Re: 2007 ProSolo Season Schedule

Toledo was off the National schedule in 2006 because they lost the airport site.  Last I heard, the chance of getting it back for 2007 was a huge question mark.

David, I think I'd be up for a Topeka Pro I think.

Yeah, "F-them guys up in the north east, it's all about DC". Get your head out of your asses in the DC area and realize there are other compeitors up here too. When you say stuff like that, it generally is South and West of DC. It just sucks that we don't have a site anywhere in the North East/New England area yet that can host one.

Sorry... just tired of the DC is auto-x and auto-x is DC mentality these past few years.

"Jer, you know that we would run one in an instant if we had the lot to do it."

Not sure if that's true, Rob.  We could put a Pro on at Ripken.  We would need the whole lot though, with the start on the bottom, far eastern part.  Paddock in the lot west of the stadium.  No one in the region seems all that motivated to make it happen.

Keith-in my original comment I was referring to the Devens tour event, the only tour stop in the NE for the SCCA (other than the Pro in DC).  Obviously Devens will not work for a Pro.  As for your DC comment, I'm not sure who you are attacking, but I don't understand the attack.  What we're saying is the NE could use another Pro (and another tour event too).  There are lots where these could be put on besides DC.  The Susquahanna region could get the Farm Show complex, great for a Pro or tour, Philly could use Ripken IMHO, and if you have a lot for a Pro up there, just tell me when to be there.  Finger Lakes hosted divisionals this year, but I think that was a runway event.  DC and Philly folk would likely be HAPPY to travel further NE for a Pro.  We need more up here, anywhere up here.

Agreed. I'd much rather travel to New England than Peru, IN for a Pro. We just need more National Tour events on the East Coast period.

I didn't mean to put salt on a sore wound Keith. You're a good guy, an amazing driver and I hold you in very high regard (my current autoX magnetic numbers were purchased from you earlier this year! Wink )

Motovation aside, I don't think there is enough room for it.  We are barely able to get 40-45 second courses using the full lot much less be able to get 30-35 second courses using half.  We can look at it again in a couple of weeks when we are there but if you rembmer the Divisional, that was a very tight squeeze.
