Beaver Run 4/12/08- Entries look really low

Only 61 cars registered for a national that's one week away.  Not very good.  I also suspect that turnout at Mosport on 6/28 will be very low too (I never quite understood why they dumped the Lime Rock Date.  Maybe this date willmove to Thunderbolt in Jersey next year?).

Too many Nationals, too few racers.  Lime Rock has limited dates, especially this year with re-paving.  Lime Rock is so expensive the Regions prefer Regionals in the hope of breaking even.  LRP entry fee for August National will be interesting---it's in my backyard and I have a question mark next to it on the schedule.  Thunderbolt will be interesting.

So, are you going to the Beave on your way to the Sprints, or are you letting Phil D have all the marbles?  Hmm  Just stirring the pot!  Drinks

    Hey LD,

Nah- car needs to be fresh for Road America, plus i'll be kickin' back in Milwaukee the weekend before Sprints, catching-up with friends.  It looks like it'll be a two-horse show at the Beave as of right now.

We will bring the Nissan 350Z for sure.   Entries are way down all over.  Last weekend at Road Atlanta the main paddock was about half full once the IT series guys left.

Re: Beaver Run 4/12/08- Entries look really low

The T2 field looks pretty good:

    Martins           350Z

    Hines             350Z

    Kleeman        350Z

    Mars              350Z

    Grand             Evo

     MIA

    Ziggy

    Moore

    Baten

    Rhul

    Vivani

BTW I was talking to some WERA racers and thier 1st race at BeaveRun this year was down to 166 riders from 341 last year. So you can't blame all of this on the SCCA...........

Where did you get that list?   All I'm seeing online is:

    Mars Brett T2 Nissan/350Z 5/15/2008 8:36:10 PM
    Grand Marty T2 Mitsubishi/Evolution IX 6/3/2008 4:04:44 PM
    Hines Rob T2 Nissan/350Z 6/4/2008 10:12:43 PM
    Kleeman Brian T2 Nissan/350Z 6/5/2008 5:56:09 PM

Not to bad a turnout but nothing near the 11 you have...

Most of those are under the "MIA" heading.  I missed that at first glance too!

The online thing is misleading, out of division drivers do not show on the NESCCA website.

I finally get it...Thanks Jason.   Looks like the only one so far that isn't showing up online is Martins and all the others are Missing In Action (MIA), maybe they'll be enroute to Wisconsin.  Damn Marty the 350zs are swarming you ;)

Re: Beaver Run 4/12/08- Entries look really low

I will be a scratch for BeaveRun. After installing a brand new LSD and doing the figure 8 break in procedure it was discovered that the clutch is gone... The car won the battle over me, I'm done. If anybody wants a super fast 05 350Z with every wear item replaced except the clutch let me know. Not including the car I've spent around 20k making it right and I can't justify another .01.

Man that really sucks Brett!!!!! You struggled with that car for a while now. Are you ready to switch to a Honda yet??? Are you still going to come out to the track?

It doesnt take long to do the clutch.  We might be able to help you at the track and we might have a spare clutch as well.  Its not that hard to drop the tranny.  We wont arrive until mid-afternoon on friday and want to get at least one quick session on the track that day.  I think we can fit it in somehow.  Bob  racerbob4@yahoo.com

I'll be there to help too Brett and I'll see if I have a spare clutch or pressure plate for ya as well.  Hope to see you at the track.

I really appreciate all of the help that is being offered!!

My issue is I hurt myself or somebody else every time I get a tool in my hand. I'm trying to find somebody for hire that can do the job with me being the gopher.

Re: Beaver Run 4/12/08- Entries look really low

Qualifying was in rain or very wet conditions for both sessions. The race was combined with spec miata with a split start. Everything seemed to go fine with that. There was a tight race between TJ Martins and Rob Hines with some contact(I'll let those guys explain it since I didn't see it only heard about it). We left before the results were official, but from memory:

    T2

    1. Martins

    2. Bill Moore

    3. Rob Hines

These may have changed based on the protest.

    T3

    1. John Costello

kinda hard to lose when you are the only car!!!!!

    SSB

    1. Niffeneger

    2. Scornavacci

    3. Lin

    SSC

    1. Lipperini

    2.Zabriski

NEW track records Rob Hines in T2(I think), John Costello in T3(was not on results but old was1:07.460 I ran 1:07.31? I am ironing that out now) Scornavacci in SSB

    Jason,

I just looked at the Mosport entry list , just 47. Many had complained about the Lime Rock fee's but the difference in travel costs are major. I just got back from Summit. Tolls were $125 and diesel was $286 for a total of $411. Meanwhile a trip to Lime Rock costs me $21 in tolls and $85 in diesel for $106 total. Thats a difference of $305 with much less wear and tear on my tow rig. Heard that Lime Rock had offered up July 4th weekend , don't know if thats true. What a shame to not have that National back.

Maybe we should check the Northeast demographics for where we live against track distance and schedule accordingly ?

Many out there will not race as much due to increased travel costs. We have to watch the rules creep that has been allowed to take place increasing our costs dramatically. Spending more money on the cars doesn't make the racing any better.

I know it has already passed but drivers being OOD has nothing to do with their entries not showing up on  the on-line registration site. OOD drivers just chose not to register on-line. Paper entries do not shw on-line.
