    315's on a S197 Mustang

Has anyone seen 315's on a new style Mustang?  Either 17" or 18"?

What wheel specs do you need, offset? how wide?

I do not what to disturb the fenders at all.

I think they will on the back. Not sure on the front. You are welcome to borrow one and see.

I did test fit one of your 315's while at the Palace last event. But due to the offset(SN95), they stuck out way too far. I want to see if anyone else out there has successfully put 315's all the way around on a S197

Ok, I would think the fronts would be more of a worry than rears.  On an 18x8.5 at 45 offset, a set of 295/30/18 A6's has roughly 18mm clearance between inside of the tire and the strut.  Now since it does not rub when the wheel is lock to lock, there has to be some clearance left there too.  Based on a couple quick calculations a 315/30/18 on an 18x9 wheel at a 45 offset would still have roughly 8-10mm of clearance on the inside against the strut and would stick out that much more on the outside which I doubt would be an issue given our 4x4 look on r-comps.  This is all of course in theory which does not exactly help your original request but I thought it might be of some value.  Good luck and please post if you have good or bad results in case we decide to go the SP route for some odd/fun reason.

While working at Steeda, we had several cars running 315 width tire on 20" wheels in 10-11" wide variety without any problems,  Im pretty sure that 315's should work fine with the right wheel probably 18x11 and then you just have to measure offset.  our 10" wheels were around 40 i believe

I would like to use 17" wheels due to the price of tires. My thoughts are 17"x9.5" or 17"x10" with +38mm offset and 315's.

    Any thoughts?

Well yes. Those wheels are more appropriate for 275 width tires.......Not 315's.

Just bolt Marcus' wheel back on, and take some measurements. Even if the offset isn't right you have an idea how much "not right" it is.....Then go from there......I cold be wrong but I remembered Marcus being on 12" wide wheels. Going with an 11" wheel would be fine with a 315 and you'll have a little more room.....

Be happy you are't in an E30 BMW. Any decent size tires require surgery
