    How did you know? I was trying to check on one, but the carfax I tried said "Sorry, this car was never produced by factory or at port". BummerStick out tongue

    This is a brand new, and it's free: National Insurance Crime Bureau VIN check

    Only covers cars that insurers have declared a total loss, so if someone is self-insured (an '89 Civic, maybe) or the car was part of a fleet or rental program, Carfax would be better.
