I haven't looked at Hawkins for several years. I went out there again today. I just don't see much hope. The one active runway and the number of FBO's (fixed base operators), as well as the number of private/business aircraft (100+) -----. The airport is operated by the Jackson Airport Authority and the Jackson City Council ---- can you work out how many people who have the right to say "no"?
I also went to John Bell Williams at Raymond - again ---too many aircraft- just not enough ramp space. I am also very familiar with Madison Airport - no hope/place there either.
There is a proven procedure (which I will happily show to anyone) which has a lot better chance of a positive "yes" ----- as opposed to an "out of the blue" telephone call ---- which will almost always result in a "no" -- OK, not a "no" but a " ----- NO!!!"
Got a possible site suggestion? ----all you have to do is call/email me. We can work our way through the process.
