    SCCA post-Nationals survey

The promised survey popped up in my e-mailbox tonight. If you're in a Prepared or Modified class you really need to answer it.

As promised, it queries about possible sites for future Nationals (five sites mentioned). This is reason enough to respond.

But specific to us in the P & M classes, it also has several questions about the 17-car rule that affects (not in a good way) most of our classes. We who compete in the "built" cars need to get all over this if you don't want to have to keep struggling to "make numbers" in the future.

This year's classes below the magic number of 17: AM BM CM XP FP BSP.

This year's classes "on the bubble" (17-20 cars): DM EM FSAE DP GP ASP SM

That's all but 2 Mod classes, all but 2 Prep classes, half the SM classes and a third of the SP classes. Or 60% of the Mod/Prep/SM/ST classes

    Please answer the survey ASAP!

    Howdy,

I haven't seen it yet... Anyone know if the survey was sent to all solo folks, or some subset like just those that went to nationals this year or whatever?

I believe the survey was sent to those who attended the Nationals this year.

That's kinda messed up, if so.  I think a question of "did you attend nationals this year?" would have sufficed.

That's particularly true with the minimum participation standards in there, but also it would seem to bias the survey towards HPT, if there are folks that aren't coming because they don't like HPT.

I've gone to nationals five times since 2000.... I think my vote should count.

I got the survey but wonder if I could forward it to somebody who didn't?

    Re: SCCA post-Nationals survey

I believe I understood from Jim Julow that you could call SCCA (800-770-2055) and request the survey be sent to you.

Ask for Deena Rowland or Nancy Downing.

I agree, I've been to HPT 2/3rds of the time it's been held there. I should get a voice!

I just got off the phone with Nancy and I was informed that this is not the case.  Only 2008 Nationals entrants will be given the survey.Sad
