    STS horepower #'s

So I have been debating on building an STS civic.  My question is what kind of horsepower #'s is everyone getting out of the 89-91 Si's?

there have been a couple of threads on this subject, just search this forum. anyway, racing dyno's is pointless but ~115whp is average and will vary by dyno. you don't need the most power or the lightest weight to win either, though it doesn't hurt.

Different dynos are so different it makes this kind of comparison very hard. You should be looking at something in the 110s or 120s whp on a DynoJet.

Here is the dyno plot from my '89 civic si, from a dynojet:

On a dynojet, my EG made 125whp/~102wtq.

I'm very suprised the EGs are only making about 10 more hp than the EF. Makes me think there is more power to be found in my motor but I've done everything I can to that thing per rules. It's even fully rebuilt bottom end with a new top end.

The EF's dont' have to spin the p/s pump. Several hp lost through that pump. The lower peak torque number is a bit misleading because the z6 doesn't get that huge torque spike that the EF gets. Average torque is fairly similar.

This thread has an overlay of an STS civic with Hytech vs. my D16z6 with a DC 4-2-1 header.

My STS Scion makes about 47 from my Black & Decker Aquarium pump.

It's a minority in spec civic...

Funny you brought this up. John at Hytech is one of my customers and I've been talking to him about a header, and I'm currently running a DC. Which header is the STS legal one? I didn't know there was such a thing.

    Re: STS horepower #'s

I believe it is just a normal Hytech header with the collector shortened. However, I'm not baller enough to have one to know for sure. Sad
